If you will ask me, about who is the perfect example of gothic
look then I will definitely say, Marilyn
Manson. Be it gothic look through gothic fashion, makeup or gothic jewelry, he can pull all of it. A load of actors/actresses tried to
give justice to a gothic look or tried to carry that look like Winona Ryder, Rihanna,
Angelina Jolie on red carpets or parties but the best one so far is Marilyn
only. His real name is Brian Hugh Warner,
but he adopted his stage name with mixing the names of two big identities,
“Marilyn Monroe and Charles Manson”.
Since the day he started his education he was more attracted
towards those things which fell under the category of “things you are not
supposed to do” by her parents. After completing his education he started his
band and fell in the Goth look. Which was appreciated by loads and repulsed by
many too? Many people say that his band, his music or his gothic look
with his gothic jewelry, is putting
wrong influence on the youth of the country as well as the world. But who can
stop Brian, the day he adopted this look,
he never looked back?
The look has cost him many relationships, on the other hand, the same look
in his music videos and his voice has taken him to Grammys. Shocked I know. But
do you know that if we talk about the only USA
then you will be astonished to see that, “three of the band's albums have been
awarded platinum and three more went gold, and the band has had eight releases
debut in the top ten, including two number-one albums?
Manson has been ranked number 44 in the Top 100 Heavy Metal Vocalists by Hit
Parader, and has been nominated for four Grammy Awards”.
After writing this or reading hundreds of things regarding Goth
culture, I can say that loving dark colors and unique style do not make your
heart a dark place. Keep applying those dark lipsticks and smoky eye shadows,
or that stylish gothic jewelry, if you like them.
